I just bought my cadillac on the 15th of March. Took it into the shop for a Battery issue. The mehcanics at the dealer informed me of a coolant leak and a Oil leak. I bought an extended warranty from the dealer ship and they will not cover it due to the problem exsisting before i bought warranty. Does any one have any suggestions i dont know what to do ? The job is gonna cost me 3500 dollars i paid 2400 for the darn warranty..

not enough details  for an applicable response

what State was this transaction in?
where did you buy the car?
in March of what year did you buy car?

where did you buy warranty?
when?
type of warranty?

why is a  "problem exsisting before i bought warranty"?
you knew about it? the dealer knew about it?  they disclosed it in sale?

why is the job costing $3,500?
what has to be done?

California is were the transaction took place
i bought the car in  Pittsburgh California in March of  2007  from the dealership the day of the purchase
The Warranty covers any engine failure
The warranty estimator came out an took pictures and he determined the problem already excited prior to buying the warranty
I did not know about it the dealer did not mention the problem to me but I did buy the car as is
the job is  costing $3,500 they mentioned something about pulling out the engine and replacing a part that will stop the oil leak  I will know more when I get to the Cadillac dealer ship tonight to pick up the car
I hope this is all the info needed for a responce, thanks

buying a car AS-IS from a California dealer does not imply
lack of disclosure.  the courts do not look favorable on dealers
hiding defects specially when they surface within 30 days of sale

you got legal recourse.

make sure the dealer is told that when you pick up the car.

and make DARN sure you get DOCUMENTATION of the problem,
DONT LEAVE W/O  IT ...

my WILD GUESS is that you have a HEAD GASKET failure.

i got to run, busy eve.

Yes I agree we need more info but you should know that there was a somewhat common main seal problem with Northstar engines and it was fixed in a recall. My 98 was recalled and fixed at no charge to me and GM even did an upgrade in the repair to address the issue long term. They also manufactured a special tool for dealers to do the job.

I would have the warranty rep explain explicity to the dealership what the pre existing failure is and then inform the dealership to repair or be sued....or...have the dealership explain vice versa.....The warranty co. will eventually give in and pay for the repair....Dealerships got more cash and lawyers on retainer.....It worked for me with my GMC van a while back....

Good Luck
