Where can I find the complete lists of OBCII Codes for my 96 Deville with a Northstar.

I get a P1139 and it does not show up on my generic list?

DTC P1139 HO2S Insufficient Switching Bank 1 Sensor 2

The reason you cannot find it is because it is not a generic OBDII code.

P = powertrain
1 = manufacture specific code. 0 = OBDII generic
1 = system area(fuel, ignition, trans ect.)
39 = code description

A P0139 would set for the same problem, but a manufacture code may set before an OBDII code because the manufacture has a more specific set of parameters for trouble shooting a specific problem.

Hope this helps.

FLCaddytech,

Thanks, Now I have another question. How do I know which sensor is Bank 1, Sensor 2.

I assume that there are four sensors. Two on each bank.

Regards, Mike

Bank 1 refers to the #1 cylinder bank (rear in this case)
Sensor 2 would be the second sensor downstream from the head.

Your car could have 3 or 4 sensors, just follow the rear exhaust manifold.
It will have 1 o2 sensor where the 4 runners join together.
It may have 1 after the "Y" and 1 after the converter (4 sensor system)or just 1 after the converter (3 sensor system).

Hope this helps.

Sometimes when i am unsure of an o2 sensor location i unplug one and see what new codes set.
