Just purchased a 2003 STS, and was about to install my remote radar/laser detector.  Looking at the vehicle, I have a couple questions for anyone who has also installed a simular unit.

1. Where did you make a hole in the firewall to run the wire?  The added insulation makes it hard to see anything.

2. Where did you mount the front sensor?  There really is not any metal behind the grill to drill and tap the mounting bracket too.

3. Are there any fuses or open power wires under the dash, or did you run the power from the fuse box under the back seat?

Thanks for any suggestions.

there really is not need to drill firewalls

any car has several holes with wires and harnesses already going through.
any one of those, will easily accommodate another wire, between the grommet and the wires..

Thanks for your reply.  It took all day, but I finally got it in and working.
