I got 20+ year old engines on all my wheels, none ever opened, they aint moving until the idle drops which usually happens before we pull the "Club", finish loading school backpacks, getting car out of garage or wiping the glass from night dew if outside, and strapping the seat belts. Probably all done under 3 minutes.
Then it is easy on the throttle for the 1st couple of blocks .. after that, I let it rip .. fairly aggressive driving.

Well, it depends on if alcohol is involved - usually after a couple of drinks I am pretty warmed up...

On mornings with iced over car - til i can get windshield cleared. On mornings when glass is clear....how long does it take to get from park to reverse....all pushing 200k+ miles and pre 1990.

i usually wait for about 3 to 5 minutes depending on the temp.
