Hey Yall:
I got a 89 Deville in good shape ( after I got it running again after 4 years being parked.).
Tthe dash board had some kind of thick brown greasy, gummy and shiney subtance on it that outside light relections off it to the windshields, caused me a problem driving because of reflected sunlight. .I wore out the auto parts stores, their web sites, and other web sites looking for a cleaner cure. There were none. It is really pittifull.
I wasted a lot of money trying cleaners
The real cleaner cure was xxxx bxxx mixed with one of the over the counter cleaners.

I know this sounds "tacky" but if nothing else worked the last two choices are to replace it or put the custom dash cloth cover on it. The second is prob faster and cheaper.

the "substance" sounds like "Armor All" or another silicone product reacting with vinyl and UV.
