HI EVERYONE I HAVE A 68 COUPE DEVILLE THAT I'M FIXIN UP TO BE REAL NICE I ALREADY HAD THE BODY WORK DONE/HAD IT PAINTED/ INTERIOR AND NEW CONVERTABLE TOP. THERE IS SOME LITTLE PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM TO RUN AS SOLID AS IT USED TO AND THERE ARE SOME TICKING AND NOISES AND SUCH. WHAT I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO DO IS HAVE THE WHOLE ENGINE REMOVED AND REBUILT PAINT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND PUT EVERYTRHING BACK IN NICE AND NEAT WITH NEW WIRES ALTERNATOR DISTRIBUTOR ETC. HAS ANYBODY DONE THIS? IF SO WHAT ENGINE PARTS DO YOU RECOMEND FOR THE ACTUAL ENGINE REBUILD?

I'VE ALREADY BOUGHT AND INSTALLED AN EDELBROCK INTAKE MANIFOLD/ EDELBROCK ELECTRIC CARB 750 CFM/ K&N AIR FILTER AND CHROME. I'M LOOKING TO MAKE THIS THNG SHINE FROM INSIDE OUT ANY TIPS ON WHAT KIND OF ENGINE PARTS TO USE TO REMOVING AND PUTING EVERYTHING BACK IN WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Hey Pimpdaddy:  Quite a pimpmobile you have there with a real pimpin' colour. Try and check out www.usapartssupply.com  they have the factory rebuilt engines and appropriate parts as well. I think you have the 472 (7.7) which is about 375 hp you might be able to crank that up a bit with you new carb setup. You might even be able to put in a high perf. ignition system. Happy hunting.

PDC,

my suggestion?
get a ton of blankets and make sure you cover the fenders anytime the hood is open.
it will save that paint job.

also, post a bigger picture.  you left me starving with that snack size pic.
