i have an extra engine for a 97 sts 4.6l. heads where taken to a machine shop and checked good. i was wondering how much i could probably get out of these and if anyone would be interested in buying.

you have the complete motor or just the heads for sale?

i could sell the whole engine i should have everything to it. it was pulled out in oct 03. the only thing it needs is when the heads were being pulled, 3 threaded holes in the block were stripped and need to be fixed. i have no clue on a price. haven't really thought about it.

Well I might be interested if its for sale, depending on price of course. I'm looking for a replacement motor and that would work allthough I would have to make some modifications

well the engine has appro. 88000 miles on it and needs the hole retaped. at a cadillac dealer its about 200-250 for the kit to do so. a new engine cost 4200 if you find the right place. what are you looking to spend on an engine? i am looking for more than 1200 on mine. thanks for asking about it.

I was thinking somewhere in the range you stated. Where are you located?

eBay should be common knowledge, but great resource for gauging demand on auto items, and the like. Electronics are what drew me there and getting online in the first place.
A high miles northstar will be less expensive, i have seen them sell for under $1000 USD in real auctions with no reserve set
