Got in and started up my 96 deville this morning and the instrument panel was so dim it was almost black. All the other lights worked fine and the car started right up, so it wasnt the battery. I drove around for about 15 minutes and it eventually lit back up. Any experiences with this. It was the first time its happened.
Thanks

when this happend was it cold? sometimes if it was really cold the dash lights will do this until they warm up. also if your head lights are on and its cold the dash lights may be even dimmer until they warm up also.

The cold does strange things to the electronics. This morning it was about -12 and my trunk would not open with the remote or dash button. I put my brief case in using the key, drove to work, about 40 minutes with heater on etc... and when I got there it worked and worked the rest of the day. I live in Canada so we have learned to just leave things a while until they thaw out, that's all it usually is. So far this winter my gas door has been frozen and my horn too, the power antena has worked fine...touch wood.
