Just like to say hi to everyone I am new to cadillac's and this looks like a great forum! I have a 94 STS with 158000 miles I got in july for $2000 it looks great black with 97 STS chrome wheels.
Anyway the car started running bad on friday so i pulled the codes and I got P119 (open or shorted fuel injector)
I did a little research online. pulled the injectors ohm tested them (all ok) and checked all the injector harnesses for power (the all have power) the only other thing i can find searching the internet is a bad PCM.
thanks for the help

P119 open or shorted fuel injector. 93-95 Northstar injector harness has some issues with the insulation delaminating off the wires. New harness is pretty pricey. You may be able to tape them up. Issue is is between intake manifold and connector near transmission. Get factory manual. Not sure you need ECM

Thanks for the tip. I will check out the wires after work monday and let you know what I find.

I got into my caddy today and drove it to work it run just fine. So i was thinking it has to be a bad wire. I pulled it inside after work looked at all the wires from the intake to the plug above the trans and as far back to the ECM as I can and all the wires look good.
anyother ideas?

Ecm is likely choice. If you have factory books there are some tests you can do when the P119 is current to be sure.

I see a set of books on e-bay I will try to get them. If it is the ECM do you think a used one will be ok... I am sure a new one is a lot of $ . thanks for the help

You would better off with the correct year manuals, but 93 books a better than none. You could contact ebay seller they may correct books. There are normally changes between years. There are most likely few between 93 and 94 since many changes were made for the 93 Northstar STS. Used ECMs are always iffy, make sure there is no corrosion or water damage. Make sure numbers match, and transfer your prom to it. You will need to learn tps and idle after you change it.

slowroll sorry for all the posts but thanks alot for the help again...... on e-bay the 94 books are for deville eldo and seville. If I recall most 94 deville's have the 4.9 only a few have the northstar... so the books cover both 4.9 and northstar?
thanks again

before you do anything else, I had that code and it ended up being my fuel pressure regulator!!!!! I have a 95'STS. While the car is running, pull the vacuum from the FPR. If there is any gas there, even a tiny but. Then it is bad and you are sucking gas......I know it's like $118 but my car runs so much better now it was like night and day....

the 94 has the FPR in the intake (no vac. hose) but I will look into it ..... I did all the diagnostics from the servive manual and #6 injector was not getting ground from the pcm......but i will look into the FPR a little more. thanks
