92 SEVILLE A/C COMPRESSOR

I have a 1992 seville 4.9L. I need to purchase a new a/c compressor. I was told that there is two different non-interchangeable models for the 4.9L, one with a o-ring seal on the suction line and one with some sort of tappered seal on the suction line. Is there a way to tell which style is used without removing the current compressor? I figured that maybe some of the other a/c componets would also differ giving me an indication of which a/c compressor I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Brian
