Heck, give me my old Northstar over the 4100 hook and tow any day - and even the 4500 has its share of problems.

I think one of the best parts of the Northstar is that a lot of the parts are still available - new - from GM - they put that power plant in so many cars.

lots and lots of people race with the Northstar - very few with a 4100 or 4500.

look up statistics, history of reliability, and "track" performance of the
1st generation L37 1993,
L26  1991-1995,
LW2 1988 - 1995,
4.1 Allante 1987 - 1988.

Is this competion between the push rod and cammer crowds. All engines listed have some have issues. Isn't the idea is to promote the Cadillac experience.

I think Fox is trying to say that each engine generation got better, in her own way.
We also all know that the best engine ever made is ...  the engine that one's car has.

You are of course 100% right.  The above posts are somewhat of a spill-over from the allante site.  You had the pre 93's and then of course the 93's.  Mostly done tongue in cheek.  I said mostly, it got heated form time to time, but in the end we all agreed that they were all beautiful cars and that the only one that has any chance of being a collector car would be the 93.  Oops, did I just say that.
