I BOUGHT A 1994 STS.WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE TRANNY SHIFTS GREAT ,WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OFF THE TRANNY SLIPS UNTIL THE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. IF ANY BODY CAN HELP THANK YOU

When the check engine light comes on the computer stores a diagnostic trouble code.
You will need to start by finding out what code is stored in the computers memory.
Also which engine is in your car?
