Someone please help me.... I have a problem, i bought this cadillac a few months ago for about 1000, the car had a mechanic lein and thats the reason i got it for that price. Anyway this car was AS IS and it overheats. I have changed the water pump which the first thing that I notice leaked and I have also changed the radiator and the thermostat. I left the mechanic happy and excited to cruise in my lac..... while cruising a warning light (ENGINE COOLANT HOT) appeared but it never told me to stop engine. When i did stop the engine you can hear the car boiling..... i have know clue where to go too next.
When does the fan in the front of the grill go in to action? i have never seen it on.
Someone also said something about a sensor, can you explain?

There is coolant temp sensor which should tell ecm to turn on fans. Coolant fans come on to send air across radiator, should control engine temp under 40 mph. Fans should also come on when a/c is on. Possible blown head gaskets.......mechanic's lien.....
